In the quiz bee competition, the junior C level team won bronze: Brandi Robertson of Lanexa, Bennett Camp-Crowder of Goochland, Brooke Hatcher of Flint Hill and Christine Pankow also of Flint Hill, made up the medal-winning team.
Boyce’s Torey Lockwood, part of the fifth placed senior C quiz team, qualified individually for the North American Quiz Championships in Edmonton, Alberta in October.
At the championships, competitors came from as far away as Alaska, Washington and Maine.
In addition to these competitions where members qualified at their regional rallies there was an International Inter-Pacific Exchange with teams from the U.S., Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. These teams borrowed local horses for a Nation’s Cup jumping competition. One member of the U.S team is a Virginia Region member, Tori Long.
