Cubbage said there is one bridge in the county that is approaching the time when it may need to be closed or reconstructed.
The Route 675 bridge has cracks around its piers and its steel superstructure is exposed, he said. The bridge is on Old Massies Comer Road, and used to be part of a turnpike before U.S. 211 was built.
Cubbage also said the U.S. 522 bridge over the Thornton River in Sperryville is slated to be reconstructed in 2013.
