The board did not take any action on an invitation to join the Cool Counties Program to set goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with Rappahannock’s government activities.
Evening meeting
At the board’s evening meeting, the supervisors unanimously adopted two measures.
The first is to amend the county's zoning code to include regulations for the storage of sewage sludge.
The board opted to remove wording that was added by the County Planning Commission that was intended to communicate the county’s lack of power to ban the land application of sewage sludge.
The second measure was a $5 increase for fees associated with convictions in criminal and traffic-violation cases. The increase will help cover court costs associated with the offenses.
