Two separate motorcycle wrecks happened 34 minutes apart Sunday on U.S. 211 near Shenandoah National Park.
First, Michele Ferrell, 39, of Centreville, lost control of her motorcycle on a hairpin turn while driving west up the mountain at about 12:40 p.m.
Ferrell slid on the pavement and might have broken her collarbone, according to State Trooper Phillip Thomas. The Washington Fire and Rescue squad transported her to the trauma unit at Fauquier Hospital.
Ferrell was charged with reckless driving. Her 2006 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle sustained roughly $1,200 worth of damage.
The second wreck
Another group of motorcyclists passed the Ferrell’s wreck while heading up the mountain.
