Items reportedly

stolen from shed

A woman called the sheriff’s office at 9:18 p.m. on Friday to report that several items had been stolen from a shed at 1318 Richmond Road in Amissville.

She had been away from the property for roughly three weeks and returned to find a utility trailer, two rolls of wire fencing, a table, an old furnace and a window air-conditioning unit missing from the outbuilding.

Sheriff Larry Sherertz said there are no suspects in the alleged theft. Open doors at school

RCSO deputies found unlocked doors after hours at Rappahannock County High School three times between July 31 and Aug. 4.

Unsecured doors were recorded at the school at 11:06 p.m. on July 31, 9:02 pjn. on Aug. 2 and 12:26 a.m. on Aug. 4.

According to the sheriff’s office report, it did not look as if anyone had entered the building during those times.

A door at Rappahannock County Elementary School was also found unlocked at 10:55 p.m. on July 31.
