“We’ve talked about our goals, and winning the district is our first goal. We didn’t do that last year,” Wilde said.
What should help the Lady Panthers in reaching that goal this season should be thenbench strength. In previous years, only eight players were on the varsity rosters. Wide decided to keep 11. He promises that they will see playing time.
Hie reserves include junior hitter Kara Corbin, middle blockers Megan Wheatley and Nikki Bowers and freshman Danica Kritter, Elena’s younger sister, who is a setter.
The Lady Panthers’ home opener is Aug. 23 against Millbrook. It is also the same night as the school’s Back to School event. Anyone who attends Back to School will receive free admission to the game.
