“Too much rain creates a lot of disease issues that are tough to fight and expensive to fight,” East said. “Disease issues can cost you a lot of fruit. We haven’t lost one grape this year.”
Bill Gadino, owner of Gadino Cellars, has seen the same benefits in his vineyard near the Town of Washington.
“The pressure from diseases is very small this year,” Gadino said. “The things you worry about in terms of fungus on the grapes is way down.”
