“Now, this is crunch time,” Hogan said. “It’s a final push to have the money for the prom. We need to pick a (prom) date soon and start making plans soon. We want a most memory-making prom for the seniors.”
Class treasurer Emily Spivey agreed.
“I think that this auction is going to do a lot of good, or I hope that it does,” she added. “We needed to do something to raise money, and car washes in the winter don’t work.”
Throughout summer vacation, Hogan and the junior class have been collecting various items for their auction. They chose to start at home — in their classrooms.
Rich Hogan, who teaches agricultural mechanics, welding and small engine repair, will have his students wash and wax a car’s exterior, vacuum the interior, wash the floor mats and check and top off all engine fluids.
Woodworking teacher Scott Schlosser plans to have students construct two items - an Adirondack chair and a sixfoot picnic table.
Hogan said that the Adirondack chair makes a wonderful gift.
