School Board From Page A1 Cantor (7th. District) “I’d like to present him with a bulleted list of items,” said Mills, "that will give him a good profile of the county.” School Safety Chappell informed the board that a preliminary Pandemic Flu Plan is in the works orchestrated by a group of health professionals, parent volunteers and school administrators. Further details will be released during the first semester. Other safety enhancements include: • installation of phones in each das* for teachers to communicate with the office; * use of a phone - email emergency notification system; and • installation of a camera system at the high school. Cameras are now placed on the outside and inside of the building Chappell said that the emergency notification system could also serve as a way to remind students/parents when report cards are coming home and other related school issues. Similar to systems used in other counties, once connected, email notices from the school are automatically sent out. While currently an administrative issue, and not etched in policy, school administrators and employees will be encouraged to wear their identification badges at all times.
