to get new lights
Rev. Philip Bailey and parishioner Geneva Welch of Washington Baptist Church received the approval of the Architectural Review Board to put new lights on the front facade of the church at last Thursday’s monthly meeting. “You’re fortunate that you still have bricks from the original building,” said Chairman Patrick O’Connell when the two described some patching that would be necessary with the installation of the new light fixtures. Bailey agreed noting that the original fixtures were in fact disproportionate and the new ones would be better aligned to the building. Their original application for the fight fixtures was amended during the session to include taking the old fights from the church and adding to the parsonage.
“You were able to solve two things tonight,” smiled O’Connell.
Bailey told the board that there are plans in the future for the addition of new shutters. Bailey was reassured that if colors were chosen that had been previously approved by the board (on display at the county administrator’s office) that these upgrades could be done “by right.” “You would only need
