Arrest on Richmond Road

Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office Deputy Daniel Coffey arrested Thomas Roy Barry for domestic assault and battery on Aug. 7 at Barry’s home in Castleton.

Coffey served an emergency protective order against the 37-year-old man at 455 Richmond Road after Barry got in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, Sandra Foster.

Barry’s mother called the RCSO to report the altercation.

Foster did not need any medical treatment, according to the sheriff's office report.

Midday DUI

RCSO Deputy Angela Deavers arrested Eric J. Timbers for driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:37 p.m. on Friday.

Timbers, of 127 Ash St. in Culpeper, was stopped on Viewtown Road. The DUI arrest is the 38-year-old man’s third.

Domestic assault charge

Joshua Nathan Smoot, of 23 Parkway Lane, was charged with domestic assault on Friday for hitting his wife in the head several times and injuring her leg, according to incident report at the RCSO.

The incident reportedly occurred Thursday, which is when the victim went to Warren Memorial Hospital for treatment. At that point, Social Services called the RCSO to request that the sheriff’s office get involved.

The sheriff’s office issued a warrant for Smoot’s arrest and also issued an emergency protective order against the 22-year-old man.
