It a recent Canadian survey is any indication. increasing numbers of individuals are choosing to use their own "last words." Instead of resorting to traditional epitaphs such as "Rest in Peace" and "Eternally Beloved." many people are selecting non-traditional phrases. Such personalized epitaphs include "I told you I was sick' and "To be continued..." Romantics have been known to evoke such notions as "We'll dance in the moonlight." and some sport enthusiasts have decided upon "Gone Fishing” for their epitaphs. It seems that, as views on death and dying undergo significant change, the phrases we use to relate to death and dying are changing as well. This is one more thing to consider as you pre-plan your funeral.
