The sizing of the solar electric panels and batteries appears to be correct so far. Deep cycle industrial batteries of this type can be discharged as low as 50 percent without damage. We had three days of overcast skies last summer and the battery charge only dropped to 75 percent of capacity.
However, just recently, we had a string of mostly cloudy days lasting nearly a week and the capacity dropped to 50 percent. For a few days, I had to be more conservative of my electrical use until the battery bank charged back up. But conversely, there were several incidents in the past year
