employed at the Inn at Little Washington. We welcome this young couple to Sperryville and Rappahannock County! “I just don't want to
leave the county”
One thing we do have in Rappahannock County is contented people. I have had so many conversations with people lately that somehow seem to end up with statements of sheer contentment. We can get just about every need met here, and we prefer to stay put! Statistically we are an aging population. Many of us talk of going to visit or take care of grandchildren on a regular basis...our main reason for making a foray into the land of beltways, traffic and speed. Otherwise, our cultural activities (pickin’ parties, The Theatre and Ki Theatre), time with friends and sheer delight in our beautiful countryside keep us home. I realize that there are many hardworking folks who leave here at 4 a.m. to get to work in Northern Virginia and I don’t in any way mean to minimize the sacrifice that many families make to earn a living. However, those of us who have reached a certain age prefer to nail our shoes to the floor and stay home in Sperryville and Rappahannock. I, for one, am delighted to have two buslnessee in Sperryville and can walk just 1.5 miles to work. Remember those ads that used to talk about “contented cows?” Well, around here we have both contented cows and contented people!
