Lifelong passion
Lees was born in Warrenton in 1950. Father, Harcourt, and mother, the late Scottie Lees, were both avid foxhuntcrs. The junior Lees rode as a child with the local Warrenton Hunt from 19681981. He attended Blue Ridge Prep School and earned a degree in journalism from the University of Richmond.
