Miller reminded the Commissioners that they had to complete work within a tight time span with the ordinance review required by 1979.
“Suppose we don’t have it (the review) done by January?” asked Luke. “As H. B. Wood tells me at Supervisor meetings, who’s going to do anything about it?” Miller suggested that, in their review, the Planners pass over sections of the zoning and subdivision ordinances that obviously apply to Comprehensive Plans and come back to those sections later after work on the county’s Plan is underway.
The Commission agreed to go along with his proposal. Barksdale noted that the ordinance review had been scheduled to begin at the previous Commission meeting. “If we don’t get started on it, we’re never going to get anywhere with it,” he commented.
