Brown has seen the county of Loudoun change from an agricultural community to an urban area, bringing with it more demands in home horticulture, including shrubbery, home gardens, house plants.

The aspects of farming have also changed, said Brown, with emphasis placed on management and record keeping.

Brown is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown, and sister, Mrs. Frances Thornton, is County Health Nurse in Rappahannock.
