ADC Estimate Low
In the category of Aid to Dependent Children (ADC), Mrs. Buntin acknowledged that she had “really goofed” on her estimate of expenditures. Already, $2,491.76 has been spent out of the $3,000 federal and state appropriation that was intended to cover the entire year. No local funds are involved in ADC, she noted.
“I will ask the state for more,” she said. “I assume they have to give it to us...I don’t think we have to worry about ADC. If a family is eligible, the state simply has to come up with the money.”
She reported that ADC foster care had an ample allocation with only $3,467 spent from $24,568. But there is no local money involved in ADC foster care “so that won’t help us,” said Mrs. Buntin, since the extra funds cannot be transferred. The only budget category with a possible excess of transferable funds is the foster care program operated
