In recent years, Davies has served as a director of the Culpeper Mental Health Association, as President of the local Historical Society, as a trustee of United Way of Virginia, and a vestryman at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. In 1972, Davies was honored by the United States Army with its Commendation Medal.
