Congressman Harris called on Republican governor candidate John Dalton to “reject totally” campaign contributions raised by a controversial letter sent out by Rep. J. Kenneth Robinson. A conservative group had attempted to raise $95,000 to run a media campaign to "expose” the Howell record.
The rally was sponsored by the Fauquier County Democratic Executive Committee and featured a barbecue and country music. It was one of the largest Democratic turnouts in recent years, according to the sponsors.
