Strasburg. Prior to this the Varsity downed Montevideo , hfTn,d.the JV’s topped Elkton.
In Tuesday’s game the Varsity came out pressing man-to-man, shaking up the opponents in the beginning. Final score stood at 52-36 in favor of Rappahannock.
The team took an early lead with seven players scoring smoothly and continued their drive to the finish. Excellent rebounding contributed to the victory. Pantherettes scoring included Jamelle Prudhum, Chris Nicholson, Rhonda Estes, Jackie Myers, Sandy Hudson, Eleanor Phillips and Janice Aylor.
In the JV game the score zigzagged back and forth with Rappahannock leading 2 points at the quarter and a tied 9 to 9 score at the half. Rappahannock gained a six point lead at the end of the third quarter and concluded the contest with a 2 point win; a 19-17 final score.
The final score for the Montevideo game was 54-48 favoring the locals, and Jamelle Prudhum was high scofer with 21 followed by Eleanor Phillips and Rhonda
