Sinfonia is one of less than ten such groups of this type in the United States and has been hailed as a bold new development in the music world. The ensemble forms the nucleus of the Richmond Symphony, one of the country’s regional orchestras.
The Sinfonia has presented concerts in all geographical areas of Virginia. Annually they perform for over 16,000 school children and thousands of additional Virginians at concerts sponsored by colleges, music clubs and other organizations throughout the state.
It also specializes in "inschool” concerts structured at various age levels to give students a broader understanding of "classical” musk.
