“Jack” Brown, an Extension Agent in Loudoun County, has been given a Distinguished Service Award for his work. He received recognition at the annual meeting of the National Association of County Agents held earlier this month in Hartford, Conn.
Brown, a native of Rappahannock, has been an agent in Loudoun for 24 years, and according to many county residents there, this award is long overdue.
He was educated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, receiving a degree in animal science. In Loudoun he works primarily with the agronomy and beef aspects of the extension service. He was instrumental in the development of the
