To the editor: On behalf of the members of the Rappahannock Lions Club, may we use the “Letters to The Editor” section of your paper to express our sincere thanks to all who helped to make our first Lions Auction an outstanding success. We are now able to add a $200 contribution to the Panther Athletic League to go with the $300 initially pledged by our club to help with the construction of a running track at the high school. Also we have funded a $400 scholarship for the representative of Rappahannock County to participate in the Lions International Youth Exchange program and spend a month in Europe next summer with a Lions family. The remaining amount of $164.15 from total profits of $1064.15 has been reserved by our Board of Directors exclusively to support activities for the youth of our county.
