Delegate Ford Quillen, Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee to study the effects of drought on agricultural business and industries in the Commonwealth, has announced that there will be a public hearing held on October 27, 1977 to begin at 7 p.m. at the Orange County Circuit Courthouse in Orange.

Quillen toured Rappahannock, Madison, Orange and Culpeper Counties recently on a campaign swing with Delegate candidate John “Butch” Davies and talked with area farmers. At that time, he indicated that he would work towards holding a Subcommittee meeting in the Planning District to hear comments from farmers on shortcomings of the drought relief program.
