Arthur T. Wright of Alexandria and Flint Hill was recognized as Wildlife Conservationist Of The Year at the Virginia Conservation Awards Program recently. The Wildlife Conservationist Award is given for out* standing accomplishment which has made a significant contribution to the management and restoration of wildlife.

A founder and Board member of the Conservation Council of Virginia, Wright’s efforts helped establish the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection. His work in conservation led him to found the Virginia Wilderness Committee and he is also a charter member of the National Wildlife Refuge Association, formed to advocate and protect America’s great federal wildlife refuges.
