An Environmental Education Workshop for elementary teachers will be held in Shenandoah National Park on November 12, 10 a.m., at the Byrd Visitor Center at Big Meadows.
Superintendent Robert R. Jacobsen says the workshop is part of the continuing effort of the National Park Service to assist teachers in using Shenandoah National Park as a teaching resource.

Funeral services for Elmer Peyton Rutherford of Centerville were held Saturday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Albert Cling of Luray. Burial followed in the Sperryville Cemetery.
Mr. Rutherford, 48, died Oct. 19, 1977, in Fairfax following a sudden illness. A native of Rappahannock, he was the son of Charles William and Mamie Susan Jenkins Rutherford of Sperryville. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Elmer P. Rutherford, Jr., of.Centerville and Lewis Rutherford of Orange; four brothers, Robert Rutherford of Centerville, James Rutherford of Castleton, Marshall Rutherford of Winchester, and Roger Rutherford of Sperryville; and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Jenkins of Santa Maria, Calif.
