November 21 and after stops at Abidjan, Monrovia and Dakar, landed New York 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, 0 November 22.
Mrs. Brown’s nephew and wife were awaiting our arrival, whisked us off to their home for breakfast and returned to make our connecting flight to Washington. Also, we had the pleasure of a brief visit with a former native of Amissville, Herbert Banks. Mr. Banks, a retired Army major, is an Air Safety Investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board stationed at IFK International Airport.
Our departure from JFK was slightly delayed because of the first official landings of the British and French Super Concordes. We arrived Washington and back home for Thanksgiving Day with a keener and greater awareness for giving Thanks for having had a safe journey with so many unique, enjoyable experiences and unforgettable memories.
