James
| Norvel Calvin James of Viewtown died December 1, 1977 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 68, the son of the late Julian Judson James and Lizzie Ellen Bayne James. Mr. James was a retired employee of the Rochester Corp, in Culpeper.
A funeral service was held Saturday at the Amissville Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. J. S. Stirman, pastor of the church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Estes James; seven sons, William James and Julian James of Culpeper, David James of Flint Hill, Donald James, Amissville, Jack James, Viewtown, Elmer James, Manassas and John James of Earleysville; five daughters, Mrs. Richard Suter of Radford, Miss Thelma James, Mrs. Allen Blair, Mrs. Helen Donovan and Mrs. John Geer, all of Charlottesville; a brother, Raymond James of Black Mountain, N. C.; and IS grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Nelson Burner, Stanley Settle, Silas O’Bannon, Aubrey Curtis, Tom Tear, Graham Hackley, Carson Estes, Gaude Carter and Dearl Goud.
Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, was in charge of arrangements.
