Rappahannock High School Varsity cagers lost A another heartbreaker on Tuesday and were overcome by William Monroe, 45-40.
According to coach Moffett, the game was close from the start with both teams fighting hard and playing well. Rodney Cook, Brooke, Miller, G. Stump and Danny Jett led a comeback that cut WilliamMonroe’s lead to two points with just 16 seconds left in the game. It was a great effort but it wasn’t quite enough.
Following what coach Moffett feels was a questionable call by the officials, William-Monroe tallied three more points to close the scoring at 45 to 40.
Danny Jett led the Panthers with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Preceeding the varsity game, Rappahannock’s Junior Panthers overwhelmed William-Monroe’s J.V., 46 to 29. The Panther Junior Varsity still has a perfect record with two wins and no losses.
The Panther’s next home game will be this Friday, December 9, against Central.
