Lieberman responded that costs for seven day care at Goldsboro House were $19 per day. “Costs are kept down (at the local level) by volunteer services,” he explained, adding that staff personnel like Dr. William Young charge the Services Board far less than can be earned in private practice.
Maintenance Level Funding
Lieberman said that the Services Board was committed over the next ten years to only asking local governments for maintenance funding for Chapter Ten programs. He said the Board planned to make up for decreasing federal payments with increased fees charged to clients.
