Admiral Gardiner interjected that he hadn’t agreed to an actual meeting, only that such a meeting might be wise. "Anytime you calm the waters, it’s a good thing,” said Gardiner but added that he would have to consult with BZA attorney Fitzgerald before any meeting took place.

The BZA’s decision to deny the ski area application in its entirety was "reached in good faith and in accordance with the law,” Oardja^r continued. Defense of the BZA's action is imperative, he maintained. To do otherwise "would destroy the integrity of zoning in Rappahannock County,” Gardiner added.

In a previous resolution to the Supervisors, the BZA asked for $3,000 to cover attorney's fees. Luke noted that the BZA account currently held $1,897.

Davis asked what would be the total cost of legal defense for the BZA.
