Special Use Permit
Frank Skowronski, adjoining landowner to the Davis property, prefaced his remarks by acknowledging that he supported Mrs. Davis' proposal to operate an antique business and small farmer’s market. He added that he reluctantly opposed the rezoning request, however, and described it as a blank ticket...in the hands of someone who might not be quite as gracious and community minded as the Davis’.”
He urged the Planners to iccommodate Mrs. Davis’ request if they could do it without a “long term blank heck" for commercial entures allowed by right on he property with B-2 zoning.
Candy Coombs maintained that granting the rezoning would set a precedent for highway strip development along Route 211 and noted hat a commercial designation would allow the three and a half acre parcel to be divided into smaller lots. "An antique shop would be nice but it should be put there with a special use permit," Mrs. Coombs said.
