“I’d like to know the basis of the Planning Commission’s decision,” commented Mrs. Davis. “I’d like to know why they object,” added Supervisor Garence Baldwin. Luke answered that the Planners — himself included—shared a concern that rezoning to commercial would allow latitude to use the property for all the uses listed by right for a B-2 zone in the Rappahannock Zoning Ordinance. “Nobody doubts the Davis' good faith (but) the Commission saw no way that it could give B-2 zoning and apply limitations that would cover future owners. I don’t think we can grant conditions in perteptuity,” he said.
Luke added that several persons who had spoken out against the rezoning had also volunteered to speak in behalf of Mrs. Davis, should she seek a special use permit to carry out her proposals for the property. Luke said he too would "come down here and go to bat” for Mrs. Davis before the BZA.

Meeting
The Rappahannock Recreation Association will meet Thursday evening, April 13, in the Court House beginning at 7:30.

Youth Revival
A youth revival sponsored by the Southern Baptist Shiloh Association will be held at the following area churches this week: Beth Car Baptist Church in Madison on Thursday, April 13; Amissville Baptist Church in Amissville on Friday, April 14; and Culpeper Baptist Church in Culpeper on Saturday, April 15.
The Rev. Jerry Hughes of Shawsville will be the speaker at each evening’s service, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Special music will be presented.
All age groups are welcome and the public is invited.
