To the editor:
We would like to express our appreciation to the citizens of Rappahannock County for their interest in our research project for our “Religion of the South’’ class at the University of Virginia. Our objective was to select homes, churches, and public buildings throughout the county which reflect the southern history, architecture, and culture during the colonial, antebellum and Victorian periods.
We would especially like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Irvin R. Kilby, Mrs. Joyce DeBergh,'9 Mrs. J. W. Fletcher, Mrs. T. L. Eastham, Mr. George Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Barron who willingly showed us their property and homes, as well as the Reverends Jennings W. Hobson III and Vicki Pittard for their patience in answering many questions.
We are also indebted to Mrs. Diane Bruce, Mrs. Virginia Lindstrom, Mr. Jack Miller, Mr. Martin Orfila, Ms. Mary Groves, Dr. Bloomer, Mr. Douglas K. Baumgardner, and Mrs. France Tabler for their contributions in ^furthering our knowledge of Rappahannock County.
