Settle
Services for Lottie Pearl Settle of Castleton were held Friday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. Don Agner. Burial was in the family graveyard near Castleton.
Mrs. Settle died Tuesday, April 4, 1978, at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Allie and Susan Elizabeth Whorton. She was a member of Amissville Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Settle are her hsuband, Luther Settle; two sons, James H. Settle and Hushel Settle, both of Castleton; five daughters, Mrs. Frances Settle, Mrs. Benn Mallory and Mrs. Virginia Compton, all of Castleton, Mrs. Walter Southard of Culpeper and Mrs. Lois Smith of Madison; 17 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Eva Hitt and Mrs. Walter Whorton, both of Castleton, and Mrs. Bernie Fincham of Culpeper.
