The Varsity baseball team has gotten off to a slow start this year. Their first district game was at William Monroe, where they went down 8 to 3. Last Friday, they traveled to Rockingham Coanty where they were shut out. It seems the team is lacking strong, experienced pitchers and it is hurting us. The first home game was Tuesday, April 11, when we faced Elkton. There’s also one Friday where Luray will be the opponents. Come on out and see the guys!
The Junior Varsity team has yet to go in combat against any team. Members include Lee Anderson, Harvey Gordon, Hugh Grigsby, Andrew Ellis, Mark Hudson, David Atkins, Wayne Atkins, Doug Nichols, Billy Anderson, Steve Mucciarone, Gary Jenkins, Steve Norman, Richie Burke and Matt Wilson. The team is coached by Jim Logan and their first game will be April 13. There will be only two home games this year, April 27 against Page County and May 9 against Luray. Your support would be appreciated.
