In addition to representing the state in legal cases, the duties of Commonwealth Attorney in Rappahannock include serving as legal advisor to local government. Baumgardner noted that he has handled a substantial number of cases pertaining to zoning law, representing both pro and con development views. “I’m familiar with the Rappahannock County zoning ordinance and comfortable in working with it,” he said.
