Dr. Carroll Brown Quaintance, 75, a patent lawyer and former teacher, died April 27, 1979 at his home near Sperryville. He was a son of the late Raymond G. and Lucy Pulliam Quaintance of Boston, Rappahannock County.
He was a senior partner in the law firm of Littlepage, Quaintance and Wray in Arlington from 1961 to 68 and was associated with the firm’s successor, Littlepage, Quaintance, Murphy, Richardson and Webner until his death.
Dr. Quaintance graduated from Culpeper High School, received a B.S. degree from the College of William and Mary and an M.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His LLB degree came from Rutgers University and his Ed. D from Catholic University.
He taught in Staunton, Va. and in Woodstown and Cranford, N.J. high schools, before joining a New York law firm in 1935 until 1959. During this period he earned his Doctorage in Education from Columbia University.
He was a member of the Virginia, District of Columbia and American Bar Associations; and of the New York and American Patent Law Associations. He belonged to the American Institute of Chemists, American Association of
