PD 9 commissioners from Rappahannock, Madison, Orange, and Fauquier counties, Culpeper town and county, the town of Warrenton and PD 9 staff held a regular monthly meeting April 26 at the Culpeper County Courthouse. PD 9, with offices in Culpeper, is the regional clearinghouse for state and federal grants.

A request by Rappahannock’s Board of Supervisors for a 701 “pass through” grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) was among seven on PD 9's agenda. PD 9 staff recommended approval of the HUD 701 Grant for Rappahannock, which totals 113,500.

Rappahannock promised 14,500 in local “pass through" funding as a condition of asking for the $9,000 701 Grant from HUD. Action by HUD is expected in May. With a “pass through” HUD 701 Grant, funding is all on paper. A HUD 701
