JV Girls
End Season
The girls on the junior varsity track team wrapped up their season last week with a win over Strasburg but lost to Stonewall Jackson by six points and to Culpeper by 20. The team was made up of 13 freshmen and 14 eighth graders. Pam Estes, Sharon Scott, Sheila Scott, Bobette Swindler and Gail Wines all ran j.v. last year and returned to give experience to the 1979 team. Sharon and Sheila competed in distance races with Sharon setting a new JV record of 14:58 in the two mile run and Sheila setting a record of 2:54 in the 880. Bobette added experience in the high jump and hurdles and Pam and Gail in the sprints and relays.
