Silek

' Abe F. Silek, 61, of Front Royal died April 28, 1979 in ' > Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C. A fiineral was held Tuesday at the Robertshaw Funeral Home Chapel and interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mr. Silek was a native of Somerset County, Pa., the son of the late Frank and Mary Silek. He had been a prominent businessman in Front Royal for 42 years and ! had owned Franks for 23 years. He was a charter member of the Jaycees, an active member in the Chamber of Commerce; a member of the Moose Lodge No. 829, the American Legion, Giles B. Cook Post No. 53 and the Retail Merchants.

Mr. Silek served in the U.S. Horse Cavalry in 1941 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal.

Survivors include his wife, Najla Haddad Silek; a son, Michael Edward of Front Royal; two daughters, Mary Jo Silek, Falls Church and Vicky Silek Hunt of Burlington, N.C., and one grandson. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph F. Silek, Front Royal and Samuel Silek of Granite City, 111.; three sisters, Thelma Silek, Bedford, Pa., Sadie Dawahare, Hazard, Ky. and Ruth Kannon of Franklinton, N.C.
