Burke
Mrs. Bertha Almira Burke of Woodville died Wednesday, April 25, 1979 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal, following a stay of a couple years at Ann Rutherford’s Rest Home in Front Royal.
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Milton Mortimore Hawkins and the late Mary Mildred Woodward, and the widow of John Ashby Burke.
She is survived by two sons, Gilbert Ashby Burke and Marvin Russell Burke, both of Woodville; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Lillard of Front Royal; five grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Five Forks Regular Baptist Church near Woodville conducted by the Rev. Hoover Heflin. Burial was in Sperryville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roscoe Burke, Milton Hawkins, Wilson Burke, Marshall Burke, Winfrey Burke, Frank Huff, Ashby Nethers, Earl Hawkins and Richard Burke.
