Both Baumgardner and Luke answered that they were unfamiliar with the provisions of the bingo statute passed during the recent session of the General Assembly. “Bingo in Rappahannock has not reflected negatively on the people here,” said Baumgardner.
Noting that it was not up to the Commonwealth Attorney to bend the law, Luke said he hoped the new law wouldn’t make bingo illegal since it was so important in fire and rescue squad fund raising.
