Textile Chemists and Colorists, ■ American Association for the Advancement of Science; was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Beta Kappa (president New York Alumni) and Omicron Delta Kappa. He received the Alumni Medallion of the College of’ Willianvand Mary in 1934.
Dr. Quaintance was a former president of the Society of Alumni of the College of William and Mary, the Cranford, N.J. Republican Gub and former chairman of the Rappahannock Republican Party. He belonged to the Society of Friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Arthalinda Pancoast Quaintance; a daughter, Mrs. Ulrich F. Maeyer and three grandchildren of Herbornseelbach, West Germany; a sister, Mrs. Henry B. Wood, Sr. of Woodville; a brother, John W. Quaintance of Arlington.
Friends services were conducted at the Woodville Baptist Church Monday and interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Rappahannock Unit American Cancer Society or to the Sperryville Rescue Squad.
Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, was in charge of arrangements.
