followed by Tammy Atkins in second. JRonda Wiley brought home second place in the hurdles while Welch took second in the 100. Ann Thomas again pulled in the points for Rappahannock with wins in the mile (5:43) and two mile (12:26.4). Liz Freeman followed her teammate to second place in the mile. Sharon Settle took third place in both the 880 and two mile. In the 440, Day and Wiley finished second and third.
Rappahannock’s 880 relay team of Swindler, Myers, Aylor and Prudhum took top honors but the 440 and mile teams were nosed out by Culpeper.
The Lady Panthers struck back on Monday to avenge their defeats, beating Madison and William Monroe at a tri-meet in Madison. First place finishes were turned in by Prudhum, Beebe, Thomas and the mile relay team of Jennifer Raney, Ronda Wiley, Johanna Day and Dee Welch.
On Friday, both varsity track teams will compete in the Skyline District meet at James Madison University. Supporters are urged to attend. Field events will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by trials in the hurdles and springs. Competition is expected to continue until 11 p.m.
