Liz Freeman, who just missed placing in the state meet last year, hit her old form and captured first in the 880.
Rappahannock’s relay teams ran to second place in the 880, third in the 440 and third in the mile.
At a Friday, April 27, meet with Culpeper, victory hinged on the final event, the mile relay. The Devilettes won but it took a record-breaking time of 4:21.7, lowering their school mark by nine seconds, to beat back the hungry Panthers. Final score in the meet was Culpeper 63, Rappahannock 53.
In the shot put, Estes took second. Johanna Day cleared 4’11” in the high jump only to have her Culpeper opponent come back with a leap of five feet, pushing Day into second place.
Prudhum took first in the hurdles, second in the 220 and third in the long jump. Beebe continued her domination in the discus with another first place throw
