David L. Allen, son of Mrs. Mary L. Alston, Washington, D. C., recently was promoted to Army specialist four while serving as a tracked-vehicle mechanic with the 81st Armor in Erlangen, Germany.
The appointing orders for this promotion stated “...The Secretary of the Army has placed special trust and confidence in this soldier’s patriotism, valor, fidelity and abilities.” The promotion was based upon these qualities and the demonstrated potential for increased responsibilities. Allen’s father, David L. Davis, lives in Washington, Va.
