Panthers Fall
In First Game
Rappahannock's varsity Panthers opened their baseball season last Wednesday, April 3, with a 9-1 loss against William Monroe’s Dragons.
Jim Logan described the game as the most confusing of his entire career as a coach. “We beat them in everything except runs,” Logan said. "Our pitchers had 13 strikeouts, our team had 12 hits and we only committed two errors. Our defense was superior to the Dragons',” he maintained.
During the entire game, William Monroe left only two runners on base at the end of an inning. “They just seemed to get the runs when they were needed,” Coach Logan said.
Rappahannock’s only run came in the sixth inning when Jeff Jenkins hit a bomber over the right field fence.
Clean-Up Week Set
Clean-up Week for the Town of Washington has been scheduled for April 1419. On Saturday, April 19, there will be a special pickup for all types of trash.
