Ulterior Motives
Mrs. Massie described the proposal for a double trailer as "penny wise and pound foolish,” agreeing that the problem of time lage in psychological testing must be addressed. "I think you have ulterior motives,” she told Eastham, indicating that he planned for the double0 trailers to be ultimately used for relieving over-crowding at the high school by freeing space for eighth grade classes at the elementary. "You’re thinking ahead but you're leaving out something that needs to be addressed now—psychological services.”
Eastham asked how many children she wanted to see in special education.
"Not one more than we have now but we have to continue the level of services that we’re currently providing,” Mrs. Massie responded.
"Then you’ll have half the children in the school in special education,” Eastham insisted.
“If you try to put every special program in a separate building, you will be on.
